About Hilary St. Jean

Hilary St. Jean is Senior Counsel in the Business Department of Brown & Streza, LLP. Hilary works with entrepreneurs, executives, and investors in support of a variety of businesses, ranging from emerging companies and startups to mature and Fortune companies. Her practice involves business matters arising throughout the entire lifecycle of a business, from formation to exit of a company. Such practice includes organizational, governance, commercial agreement, employment, and financing matters and exit and succession planning. Hilary also serves venture and private equity investors. Hilary has experience with various debt and financing transactions, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions and a variety of other corporate and transactional matters. Hilary has worked on unique one-of-a-kind transactions and contracts and enjoys innovative and new areas of law.

Hilary earned her Juris Doctor from UC Berkeley School of Law. She has a background in entertainment-based matters, including intellectual property asset transactions, talent agreements, and sponsorship and promotional arrangements.

Prior to working at Brown & Streza, Hilary worked in the heart of Silicon Valley on Sand Hill Road on a variety of corporate matters and including as a board-level attorney for several major technology companies, advising client boards of directors and executive officers on both business and business/legal matters. Before becoming an attorney, Hilary worked at a Fortune 500 company in the music business and traveled nationally and internationally representing such company. Hilary’s prior employment experience contributes to Hilary’s unique ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide both legal and business advice to her clients.
