John McHale is an attorney with the Orange County, California law firm of Brown & Streza, LLP. John brings over three decades of business transactional experience, representing privately-held and public companies, established businesses and startups, throughout their business lifecycles. John’s legal experience includes formations; capital raising, including equity and debt offerings and investments; joint ventures and strategic relationships; commercial and technology transactions; mergers and acquisitions; exit transactions and ownership transitions; going public transactions (IPO and SPAC); and pre-litigation dispute resolution.
Previously in his career, John was a shareholder at a prominent boutique law firm in Southern California with a focus on representation of media, communications, and entertainment companies, including leading companies in the independent motion picture industry. His practice included acting as outside securities and M&A counsel to several NYSE, NASDAQ and over-the-counter publicly held companies. In recent years, John has represented companies across a wide range of industries including software and other technology companies, assisting clients in navigating the rapidly expanding legal and regulatory terrain for new and developing technologies.
John earned his B.A. with distinction in Economics and Political Science from Stanford University and his Juris Doctor from University of Chicago Law School.
In his free time, John enjoys spending time outdoors hiking, cycling, and kayaking, and indoors watching his favorite musicians perform across Southern California.
