Heather Kocer is an attorney in the Business Planning Department of Brown & Streza LLP. Her practice focuses on private retirement planning under California law. She advises clients on exemption planning, solvency requirements, transactional documents, and performs intensive claims and litigation analyses aimed to achieve client goals.

Heather earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Redlands and graduated with her Juris Doctor from Pacific West College of Law. While in law school, Heather tutored first-year law students in order to prepare them for the first-year law student’s examination. She teaches Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, Legal Analysis, and exam writing techniques.

Prior to joining Brown & Streza, Heather worked on exemption planning, created customized estate plans, negotiated and drafted contracts, and represented individuals in various civil and probate litigation matters including contract disputes, fraud, workplace discrimination, and trust protector actions. Heather also represented businesses in civil litigation and before government agencies in employment matters, contract disputes, and securing government contracts. On the general counsel side, she has formed business entities, drafted transactional documents, negotiated and drafted contracts, and worked to ensure companies maintained compliance with employment laws. Heather has also litigated police brutality and criminal cases.

Heather is admitted to practice law in California as a member of the California State Bar.
