Jay Bettinger has been a business attorney for 20 years, including 4 years of in-house experience in the internet technology industry. He advises investors, funds, entrepreneurs, executives and companies, counseling clients on domestic and international business transactions, commercial agreements, Internet activities (video-driven sites, social networking, second screen, SaaS, iPad/iPhone (iOS) Apps, e-commerce, media), formations and entity selection, joint ventures, private equity and debt security offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, corporate governance, executive employment agreements and executive compensation, regulatory compliance, and licensing of domain names and intellectual property. He typically works with high-velocity, aggressively growing companies or for investors and funds investing in the same or otherwise or purchasing companies.  He also advises owners and founders on coordinating efforts on business and personal planning.

For numerous clients, Jay and his team function as their outside general counsel, handling all legal matters and overseeing various attorneys needed in specialized fields of law. He has particularly strong industry expertise in Internet, domestic and international technology licensing, international manufacturing and distribution of consumer and durable manufacturing products, entertainment, sports representation and professional services. He routinely structures domestic operations for numerous foreign clients entering the United States market, including licensing arrangements, complex joint ventures and acquisitions. His international experience includes structuring cross-border joint ventures. He has worked directly with clients based in Australia, Holland, China, India, Italy, Portugal and Vietnam. Leveraging his tax education, Jay has a history and proven track record of effectively working with CEOs, CFOs, CPAs and business owners. 

As an avid entrepreneur, Jay founded several companies including a reputation management company, Repio, Inc. He has obtained several patents for inventions in the emerging online reputation management field. Towards fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial community, he founded MORE Foundation, a nonprofit aimed at reinventing the start-up contest (Patent Up competitions) for Universities and colleges while helping patent owners.  He is also currently a contestant with the IBM Watson Al XPrize.

Jay and his two daughters live in Rossmoor, California. They have a passion for wake boarding and wake surfing in remote locations across the southwest, such as Lake Powell, Utah.
