Brian Fredkin counsels beneficiaries and fiduciaries during the course of an estate or trust administration. He advises on a range of issues that arise at death, such as the federal estate tax, the federal gift and generation-skipping transfer tax, the federal and California state income tax, and the California transfer tax on real property. He regularly reviews existing estate plans and he works closely with fiduciaries to ensure that assets are allocated or distributed in accordance with a trust's terms. Brian also assists in the drafting of irrevocable trusts, as well as the filing of court petitions to amend, modify or terminate an otherwise irrevocable trust. He also assists in the preparation of letter ruling requests to the IRS to correct mistakes or omissions that would otherwise lead to an unintended estate or gift tax consequence.

Prior to joining Brown & Streza, Brian practiced in the areas of estate planning, and estate and trust administration at a mid-size law firm in Los Angeles, where he serviced the client needs of small to mid-size estates and high net worth individuals. Before entering the practice of law, Brian spent nearly five years as a tax accountant for high net worth individuals involved in the music, sports and entertainment industries. His strong background in tax and accounting enables him to assist firm clients in all aspects of estate planning, probate and trust administration.

Brian received his undergraduate degree from Claremont McKenna College (Dean's List), his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law, and his Master of Business Taxation (M.B.T.) from the University of Southern California. While at the University of Southern California, Brian was awarded the Tax Executives Institute, Inc. Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement (Los Angeles Chapter).

During college, Brian was a member of the Claremont McKenna College tennis team.  Brian lives in Corona del Mar with his wife, Claudia, and their dog, Tyrion.
